Reaching Out When You Need Us

You can contact American Pets Crematory at the moment of loss or reach out in advance to ask questions. Our goal is to make that first conversation as straightforward and unhurried as possible, regardless of the circumstances that bring you to us.

We serve families throughout the Florida Keys, the Florida Keys, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, and pickup can be arranged directly from your home or from a veterinary clinic, from 6 AM to 10 PM, any day of the week.

We also recognize that some people prefer to gather information quietly before ever placing a call, and reading through this page in full is a reasonable way to prepare for that conversation later.

What Happens During the First Call

When you call, you will speak with someone who understands that you may be in the middle of a very difficult moment. The conversation typically begins with basic information: your name, your location, and some details about your pet, such as species and approximate size, along with whether your pet is currently at home or at a veterinary clinic.

From there, the conversation moves into your options, including private, communal, or individual cremation, and any questions you have about memorial items such as urns, name plaques, or cremation certificates. You are welcome to ask as many questions as you need; there is no expectation that you will have everything decided before you call.

If you are calling on behalf of an elderly relative or another family member who is struggling to make the call themselves, that is entirely appropriate, and we are glad to work with you directly.

Information That Can Help You Prepare

While nothing is required before you call, having a few pieces of information ready can make the conversation move more smoothly. This includes your pet's name and approximate weight, your address or the address of the veterinary clinic where your pet is located, and a general sense of whether you are interested in having remains returned to you.

If your pet passed away at a veterinary clinic, it can also help to know whether that clinic already has an established relationship with us, since some clinics coordinate pickup directly, which may simplify the process for you.

There is no wrong way to begin this conversation, whether you lead with logistical questions or simply need a moment to explain what happened before moving into details.

If Your Pet Has Just Passed at Home

If your pet has passed away at home, you do not need to transport your pet yourself. Calling us directly allows you to arrange pickup at a time that works for you, whether that is immediately or after you have had a little time with your pet.

There is no requirement to rush this process. Many families appreciate having a short period of time with their pet before pickup is arranged, and this is something you can discuss when you call.

If you think of additional questions after your first call, you are welcome to call again; there is no limit to how many times you can reach out for clarification.

If Your Pet Has Passed at a Veterinary Clinic

If your pet has passed away or was euthanized at a veterinary clinic, your veterinary team may already be prepared to coordinate with us directly. It is worth asking your veterinarian or their staff what their process involves, since this can sometimes reduce the number of calls you need to make yourself.

If your clinic does not handle this coordination, you are still welcome to call us directly, and we will arrange pickup from the clinic once we have the necessary location details from you.

We try to make every call feel like a conversation rather than a transaction, recognizing that the person on the other end has just experienced a meaningful loss.

Asking Questions About Options and Terminology

Because terms like private, communal, and individual cremation can be used differently by different providers, we encourage you to ask us directly to explain what each term means in the context of our process. We would rather spend extra time clarifying definitions than have you make a decision based on assumptions.

You are also welcome to ask about memorial options, such as personalized urns, name plaques, and cremation certificates, during this same conversation, so you can consider all aspects of the process together rather than needing to call back multiple times.

If language or communication needs require additional patience or a different approach, please let us know at the start of the call so we can adjust accordingly.

Calling on Behalf of a Veterinary Clinic

If you are a veterinary professional calling on behalf of a client, it can help to have the pet owner's contact information and consent ready, along with details about the pet and the clinic's address, so that pickup can be coordinated efficiently for the family you are assisting.

We value our relationships with veterinary clinics across our service area and are glad to discuss how coordination can work most smoothly for your practice and the families you serve.

Our hope is that by the end of your first call, you feel clearer about your options than when you began, even if you have not yet made a final decision.

Taking Your Time With This Decision

Whatever brings you to contact us, know that this conversation is meant to support you, not to pressure you into a decision before you are ready. If you need to hang up and call back later, or if you want to discuss your options with family members before deciding, that is entirely reasonable.

We are here throughout the Florida Keys, the Florida Keys, Miami-Dade, Broward, and Palm Beach, from 6 AM to 10 PM daily, whenever you are ready to talk, whether that is in the immediate aftermath of a loss or as part of planning ahead for a pet who is nearing the end of their life.

Whenever you are ready to reach out, know that the call is meant to meet you exactly where you are in this process.

A few questions to keep nearby

If it helps, keep a short written list beside your phone. Ask about the total cost for your chosen cremation option, any pickup charges, what memorial items are included, and the expected time for ashes to be returned. Confirm who will contact you with updates and the best number to use if you need to follow up. Our team is happy to share pricing and timing for your arrangements when you call.

Before visiting

Our address is 4165 NW 132nd St, Opa-locka, FL 33054. Please call before traveling to confirm the arrangements appropriate for your visit and the information you should bring. Pickup availability and office visiting arrangements are separate questions; clarify both with the team when needed.
